Where to begin on this topic. First and foremost I think it’s important to really know your overall budget and what your top three priority vendors are. This will help you determine what you are most comfortable being flexible on. Keep in mind that the price point of flowers will fluctuate based on the flower types, arrangement style, and any installations that you are after. Also factor in labor, yes flowers are beautiful and seem so easy breezy to through together, but trust me there is a lot of love and intense preparation that goes into your flower vision. Here are my tips and tricks on how to help keep on budget!
Tip 1: Less can be more
If you are working on a tighter budget, opt for one big installment versus a bunch of little things dispersed throughout your event. Having one big show stopping piece that guests can visit again and again will be an experience they will never forget. Picture a large hanging installment, a floral wall/backdrop, or a flower arch. Just be honest with your budget and get comfortable with the idea that you may not be able to do everything that is on your pinterest board.
Tip 2: Double-duty
Have your bridal and bridesmaid bouquets be center pieces on the tables after your ceremony. This will cut down on the amount of flowers needed for the overall event. It’s also a great way to showcase those arrangements throughout the entire event! You don’t want to just toss them back in the room after your short ceremony. Let them shine and be the talk of the event!
Tip 3: Think about Labor
I’m going to be real with you here, yes you are paying for labor! When constructing elaborate bouquets and other arrangements it takes a lot of thoughtful planning, care, and time. Anything hanging or large scale will require special equipment and another set of hands. You are not just paying for your flowers, but all the love and effort going into their placement. I don’t recommend having florals be a DIY item for your event as you can only buy flowers so far in advance: the week of. Talk about adding stress to your big day!
